Hello Boys and Girls! I can just about feel it in the air, summer is right around the corner, and there is no doubt that summer is one of the best things about Tel Aviv.

I love love love the beaches in this city, and most of all I love that each beach has its own unique vibe. It’s like visiting a different country just ten walking minutes away.
So here we go, my 5 favorite Tel Aviv beaches (From North to South):
Tel Baruch Beach
Tel Baruch is basically the “snobbish” beach of the city, which means that all the rich and famous somehow find themselves gathered here. It could be because the beach is right under the very exclusive Sea & Sun Building, or because it’s close to the sophisticated Turquoise restaurant, anyway something in the combination gives this beach a fancy and prestigious feel and makes me look twice in the mirror and check my bikini brand before I walk in. When I get there, I take a left if I’m aiming for more of a family experience, and a right if I want to see and be seen. Both sides are relatively quiet and make me feel like I’m part of up scale Tel Aviv.
Hilton Beach – Top sea beach
Hilton is definitely one of the more sexy beaches in town. The minute I slide down from the Hilton Hotel road, my mind is filled with naughty thoughts. This is surely due to the many almost completely naked dudes running around, and also thanks to the Hip Hop and R&B music playing in the background. This beach is usually packed full, especially on weekends, and the crowd is mainly hot, young and siliconed.
Also it’s a really good place to learn how to wind surf, so you can feel like you’re working out and still be at the it place in town.
Frishman Beach
Frishman is what I would call my everyday beach, when I’m not in the mood for an out of the ordinary visit and I want to wear my worn out one piece, this is where I end up. There’s nothing really special about Frishman and that’s what makes it such a genius place. At Frishman you can basically do anything, you can meet your grandmother for an early morning swim, you can sit and smoke a hookha with some friends or you can find yourself lying around for hours thinking of your next startup.
I guess you’ll just have to come out and see what Frishman does to you..
Alma Beach
When ever I come out to Alma Beach, the calmness and tranquility automatically fill my body and I just want to start humming “Ohm Ohm Shanti Shanti”.
This beach really gives me the quiet and relaxed atmosphere that I could only find when I was traveling in south India. The whole strip is covered with Asian blankets known as “longs” and the crowd is mostly hippie shanti types. The Far East sounds fill my brain and the smells surrounding this beach make me feel happy happy.
If this peacefulness starts to drive me crazy, I sometimes take a small leap in to civilization and have brunch at the Manta Ray restaurant which is just above the beach.
The Drums Beach
This isn’t really a beach it’s more of a cultural event! If I’m in looking for some music and a little craziness this is my spot. The scene here is pretty unbelievable, every Friday about two hours before sunset, people start to come out here and before you know it there is one hell of a jam session going on. If you have a drum, bring it! If not bring your harmonica, accordion or whatever you want, cause you’re here to make some noise and its so much fun. Also there are a lot of people juggling and doing all kinds of fire tricks, so if this happens to be your thing, just do it. All and all this is one funky beach!
