The Givatron is an Israeli kibbutz folk singers group which is very well known in Israel. They were established in 1948 in Kibbutz Geva and have been chanting ever since. Their songs focus on Israel’s beauty, nature and sceneries, they have about a million songs and albums and a real Israeli can recognize a Givatron song from miles away.

Even so, as they years go by, the group has become a little obsolete and doesn’t exactly address the young and updated generation.Luckily enough an awesome solution to this problem has popped up and is slowly and carefully becoming a huge hit - The Groovatron. This crazy, energetic band takes the old and traditional songs, shakes the dust off them and gives them an edgy and exciting interpretation.
The band includes 8 members, playing and improvising on all kinds of different instruments, from the trumpet to the trombone, creating some kick ass sounds. The highlight of the band is without a doubt the lead singer Dror Ahava Romem. He is literally an energy boom! He is funny, wacky and extremely loud and he gets the crowd on their feet in seconds.
This is an experience for the whole family and I’m talking from experience. I saw the show six months ago, on the Hebrew New Year, Rosh Hasaana, accompanied by all of my in laws and extended family! It was a night to remember! In the beginning of the evening they were just tapping elegantly on the table, but soon enough everyone was jumping and shooting like madmen.
Even though the songs are in Hebrew, you definitely don’t need to know the langue to enjoy this show, just get up on the dance floor and get into the groove…
