It doesn’t really matter whether or not you are a student, this day of fun is a day for everyone! The Student Day has become a real tradition, and not only in Tlv - You can enjoy these days at the Beer Sheva University, the IDC Reichman College, and even at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. But like most things, the real party will be happening only in Tlv, and it all takes place this coming Thursday (15.5.08).

Starting from 12:00, the usually dull campus of Tlv University will start to fill up with all the types of students you can imagine, all very happy that there is no school that day, and even happier that they can drink from dusk to dawn.

So what do they have planned for the day?There will be two major performances stages with some very cool performances going on. Actually most of the known Israeli bands will be there playing the night away. Be sure not to miss the Yehudim (www.hayehudim.com), the only real rock band in Israel. Also try to check out Efrat Gosh (www.efratgosh.co.il), an upcoming soul singer that has been exciting the Israeli crowds for the last few years. Other recommended shows are the Giraffes (www.girafot.co.il), an eccentric cult favorite in Israel; with song lines like “Wow, how absurd, the same refrigerator in such a different form”, you can either really love them or really hate them. And also Pshutei Haam, the new incarnation of the two founding members of Shotei Hanevua, which play great very Israeli music (Check out the full musical schedule below).

If you are in a dancing and jumping mood, you will also be satisfied here since D.J. Astrix is going to be putting some serious trance music on one side of the campus, while Salsa, 80’s and maybe even Hora dancing will be going on the other side.

In addition to all this fun in the sun, the whole area will be filled with clothing booths and food stands, from falafel to ice cream, beers and margaritas, you will be drunk and happy about twenty minutes after you get there.

And if after all of this you are still energetic and looking for some more adventures, have your pick between racing at the carting lanes that will be set up on campus, going for a swim at the University’s olympic swimming pools, or taking a dip in the jacuzzi.

As you probably understand by now, this is going to be one crazy day filled with tons of activities and lots of balagan…
