Tel Aviv’s Accessories Market

May 22nd, 2008 · 3 Comments

I’m very very happy to be writing this post, because I feel that I haven’t had enough opportunities to write about my real true love: Fashion!

This weekend all of us style buffs will have the chance to freshen up your wardrobes and get ready for the sunny season coming up, at Tlv’s Accessories Market (http://www.xsrz.com).

This market was born at the beginning of 2007 as a tribute to Tel Aviv and the wonderful home that it provides for young upcoming designers. The goal was to give a stage for fashion and industrial designers that can’t afford to rent a store on Dizengoff or to have the names plastered on some central Tlv billboards.

This weekend the market will include mostly summer targeted stuff, 60 very talented designers were hand pick to take part and they will be selling their collection at especially low prices. From my experience (last 3 markets, what can I say I get addicted easily) you can count on finding jewelry, bags, belts, shoes, sandals, flip flops, wallets, brooches and a few other products that can’t really be defined…

As I mentioned before, most of the names are unknown completely and that is the beauty of it, but rumor says that Mirala & Eya sell some funky looking jewelry that you just have to see, and also try not to miss Mor VE Yos, probably the coolest, most avant-garde accessories designers in town.

If you are one of those people that just have to get the limited edition of every collection, you should probably try to get there on Thursday, otherwise I highly recommend Saturday morning. There will be less people, a nicer environment and you can go straight after to the Jaffa Harbor for some lunch, try the Fishermen’s Restaurant (03-6813870).

The Caliph House, 33 Hatsorfim St., Old Jaffa.
Thursday 22.5.08, 16:00- 23:00
Friday 23.5.08, 10:00-18:00
Saturday 24.5.08, 11:00-22:00
Entrance Fee: 5 Shekels
