Gan Ha’Eir Tel Aviv is waking up!!!

August 20th, 2008 · No Comments

Well, I have told you before that the neighborhood I am currently living in (Ben Gurion Blvd. on the corner of King Salomon St.) is the best in all of Tel Aviv! We have the best coffee shops, the best ice cream parlors and we are oh so close to the beach.

The truth is I am the kind of person that always thinks that what I have/where I live/the crowd I hang with is the best! With that said, I am still honest enough to admit the truth: We have been in kind of a slump, I mean I love sitting around on the bench in the Blvd, I am a true fan of the sandwiches of Bar-Gurion and I love the Armadilo Cerveza and the Mate as much as the next neighbor, but come on - I need some excitement!

So this how the story begins….I took my dog Gucci for a walk a few nights ago, our regular route is the Ben Gurion Boulevard, but if I have the energy and if I want the Guc to lose some of her hyper activeness, I take her to the garden in Gan Ha’Eir. All the cool dogs come here, and actually a lot of very cool and rather good looking owners too.

The Garden has a great vibe to it, it is pretty clean considering Tlv standards, it is very quite so you get an intimate feeling in it, even though you are still in the center of the city and it is a good place to bring a book or a magazine and chill while you’re doggy makes friends.

Our trip to the garden always includes a walk up the stairs to the top of Gan Ha’Eir, a short glimpse at what’s going on in hectic Even Gvirol St. and then home. Imagine my surprise, when all of a sudden I see a new bar has opened right there!!! I must say this is the perfect location for a new neighborhood bar and it is just what us locals have been looking for this summer.

So this is the deal: the new spot is called Ganna 71, the concept is coffee shop by day and bar by night, the atmosphere is very casual, seating inside and out, at the moment they are still in the triail run of the place so you can expect some not so impressive service but on the contrary the place is still not packed full which is so fun!!!That’s why I strongly recommended going there in the next few weeks before the “Others” (people from other neighborhoods) take over…I think I am going to spend the rest of the summer right here….come join me : )
